There is no universal target. The reference ranges in this calculator are directional guidance, not verified industry averages. Account size, content format, audience, and the formula you use all affect the result. Compare your own similar post samples over time.

Should I enter totals or averages?

Enter totals across all the posts in your sample, not averages for a single post. For example, if you analyze 12 posts, add up the interactions across those same 12 posts. The calculator calculates the per-post average for you.

Can I compare my YouTube engagement with competitors?

Yes, if you can gather comparable public metrics. Use the same formula and a similar number of posts for both accounts. Treat the result as an estimate when private metrics, such as saves or views, are unavailable.
