Best time to post on LinkedIn on Friday
Friday still reaches a working audience, but it is the day their attention shifts from taking things on to closing them out — and anything a post has not achieved by the end of the day lands into the weekend.
Our LinkedIn Friday posting time figures are not published yet
We only publish posting times we measured ourselves, from posts actually published through Bolta. That aggregate is still being compiled, so this page shows the reasoning without the numbers rather than recycling someone else’s round figures. It is excluded from search results until the data lands.
In the meantime, Bolta’s Optimal Time already computes the answer for your own account rather than a benchmark average.

What makes Friday different on LinkedIn
Friday is the only working day whose second half genuinely behaves differently from its first. The audience is at work, but the mode shifts from starting things to finishing them — less appetite for a long read, less inclination to open a discussion they would have to carry into next week.
It is the day where LinkedIn's longer post life turns into a liability. A Friday post's remaining runway straddles the weekend, when the audience is not on the platform to lift it with comments. Instead of a second day of momentum, the post pauses, and it comes back into a Monday feed that is already busy with fresh material.
The compensating factor is a thinner field: less planned content is scheduled for Friday, so there is more room for a post that does find its audience. That is a real trade rather than a reason to prefer the day — a bigger share of a smaller, more distracted pool.

Frequently asked questions
Is Friday a bad day to post on LinkedIn?
It is the weakest working day rather than a bad one. The audience is still there, particularly earlier in the day, and the feed is less crowded. What you give up is the follow-through: the post's later life happens while nobody is looking.
Why does Friday drop off during the day?
Because attention converges on finishing the week — closing tasks, last calls, handovers — and then on leaving. Unlike a leisure platform, LinkedIn gets no evening recovery, so once the working day winds down there is nothing after it.
What kind of post suits Friday?
Something self-contained that pays off immediately: a short reflection, a wrap-up, a light or human post. Save anything that needs sustained attention or an ongoing discussion for a day with working days in front of it.
Should I post on Friday if I already posted midweek?
Yes, if you have something worth saying — a thinner feed makes an extra post cheap to try, and consistency is worth more than protecting a perfect average. Just do not put your most important post of the week here.
Stop looking up posting times
A benchmark table is an average of other people's audiences. Bolta's Optimal Time reads your own LinkedIn history and schedules each post into the window that actually works for your account — then keeps adjusting as the audience shifts.
Methodology
These pages report posting times measured from posts published through Bolta — our own data, not a third-party benchmark. The aggregate is still being compiled, so no sample size, date range or figures are published yet and this page is excluded from search results.
When it publishes, this block will state the exact post count, the number of accounts, and the date range behind every number on the page.
