Best time to post on Instagram on Tuesday

Tuesday is the settled part of the Instagram week: routines are back, sessions are predictable, and the audience is reachable in the gaps of a working day. It is also the day most scheduling tools default to.

Our Instagram Tuesday posting time figures are not published yet

We only publish posting times we measured ourselves, from posts actually published through Bolta. That aggregate is still being compiled, so this page shows the reasoning without the numbers rather than recycling someone else’s round figures. It is excluded from search results until the data lands.

In the meantime, Bolta’s Optimal Time already computes the answer for your own account rather than a benchmark average.

What makes Tuesday different on Instagram

Tuesday behaves like the reference weekday. The weekend backlog has cleared, routines have re-formed, and the pattern of short in-between sessions that Instagram depends on is at its most regular — which makes Tuesday the easiest day to read when you are testing a slot, because there is less week-position noise in the result.

Its one real distinction is competition. Tuesday is the default that scheduling tools, agency calendars and content templates all converge on, so the volume of business content published into feeds is near its weekly peak. You get a reliable audience and you pay for it with a busier feed.

Frequently asked questions

Is Tuesday the best day to post on Instagram?

It is frequently the most reliable day, which is not the same thing. Audience sessions are predictable and the feed backlog has cleared, but Tuesday is also where most scheduled content piles up. Reliable is a fair description; best depends on your audience.

Why do so many guides recommend Tuesday?

Because it is the earliest day of the week where routines are fully re-established, so aggregate data looks clean. That is a real effect, but it is partly self-fulfilling: enough people follow the advice that Tuesday's numbers reflect both audience behaviour and everyone else's scheduling.

Should I post on Tuesday if I only post once a week?

It is a sound default, especially if your reach comes mostly from followers, since the audience is at its most predictable. If your reach is recommendation-driven, the day matters much less than the post.

Is Tuesday good for anything that asks the audience to act?

Better than the edges of the week. People are in a working, decision-making frame rather than a leisure one, so calls to action that involve signing up, reading or buying meet an audience that is already doing tasks.

Stop looking up posting times

A benchmark table is an average of other people's audiences. Bolta's Optimal Time reads your own Instagram history and schedules each post into the window that actually works for your account — then keeps adjusting as the audience shifts.

Methodology

These pages report posting times measured from posts published through Bolta — our own data, not a third-party benchmark. The aggregate is still being compiled, so no sample size, date range or figures are published yet and this page is excluded from search results.

When it publishes, this block will state the exact post count, the number of accounts, and the date range behind every number on the page.
