Monday is the only weekday where your post lands in a feed that has a backlog behind it. People who scrolled less over the weekend come back to more unseen material from the accounts they follow, which means recency helps you less than usual — you are one item in a longer queue rather than the newest thing in a caught-up feed.
Competing supply also steps up sharply on Monday.
