Lesson 1: The Hunter + Hype-Man Combo on X

This combination of Bolta agents is the workhorse setup for X. It works because the platform rewards both consistent original posting and high reply velocity.

How they split the work

  • Hype-Man generates 3-5 original posts per day in your voice.
  • Hunter finds 5-15 reply opportunities per day from your reply-targets list.
  • You approve, edit, or skip each output via Telegram or web.

Why this works on X specifically

  1. Reply velocity is a major algorithm signal. Hunter keeps you in conversation.
  2. Multiple posts per day is the X norm. Hype-Man maintains the cadence without you grinding.
  3. Both agents share Voice DNA. Replies and originals sound like the same person, not like two different bots.

The configuration

  1. Hype-Man — set to 3-5 posts per day, mixed lengths, hooks varying across all 7 archetypes from earlier lessons.
  2. Hunter — pointed at your 30-50 account reply-targets list, with engagement floor (e.g., 50+ likes on the original post before Hunter considers replying).
  3. Voice DNA — same profile shared by both agents.
  4. Persona — same persona shared, but with sub-instructions: "Originals lead with hook archetypes. Replies are conversational, 100-200 chars, no pitches."

Autonomy levels

  • Days 1-14: Both at Manual or Assisted. You're still calibrating voice and verifying Hunter's reply targeting.
  • Days 15-30: Hype-Man to Auto if quality is consistent. Hunter stays at Assisted — replies on X are read closely; mistakes are visible.
  • Days 31+: Hunter to Auto with tight thresholds. Most workflows stabilize here.

When to add Analyst

After 30 days of running Hunter + Hype-Man on X, layer in Analyst. By then you'll have data showing:

  1. Which hook archetypes drive your engagement.
  2. What time of day your audience is most active.
  3. Which reply-targets generate the most follow-back.

Analyst surfaces this and refines the persona.

Lesson 2: Cadence, Schedule, and Volume

X is the platform with the highest "right answer" cadence. Hit the volume; hit the rhythm.

Original post cadence

  • 3-5 originals per day for active growth phase.
  • 2-3 per day for maintenance.
  • 1 per day is too low to feed the algorithm reliably.
  • 8+ per day dilutes attention and signals churn.

Reply cadence

  • 5-15 replies per day in active growth.
  • 3-5 per day for maintenance.

The reply count matters more than the original-post count for accounts under 50K.

Schedule

The right schedule depends on your audience timezone, but a common North America-friendly schedule:

  • 8 AM ET — first post (your sharpest, most-thought-out)
  • 11 AM ET — second post (lighter, often reactive to morning conversations)
  • 3 PM ET — third post (mid-afternoon, often a thread or longer post)
  • 7 PM ET — fourth post (evening engagement, often a question or poll)
  • Reply windows: 9-10 AM, 2-3 PM, 8-9 PM (when target accounts are most likely to be posting)

Day-of-week effects

  • Tue-Thu: strongest engagement on X, Bluesky, LinkedIn.
  • Mon: strong but slower start.
  • Fri: drops 20-30% after midday.
  • Sat-Sun: lighter cadence, but well-targeted posts still work.

Letting Bolta optimize

After 14 days of data, switch to Bolta's auto-scheduling. It surfaces your audience's specific patterns.

Lesson 3: Voice DNA Tuning for X

X has a specific shape. Voice DNA trained for other platforms often doesn't quite fit.

What X favors

  1. Density. Every word working hard.
  2. Sentence fragments. "Built it. Shipped it. Crashed it."
  3. First-person directness. "I" not "we" not "you."
  4. Punchlines. End with a beat, not a whimper.
  5. Specific over abstract. Numbers, names, moments.

What X punishes

  1. Marketing-speak. "Excited to announce" lands flat.
  2. Long sentences. Mobile readers don't get past commas.
  3. Throat-clearing. "Today I want to share…"
  4. Generic adjectives. "Amazing," "incredible," "game-changing."

Tuning Voice DNA for X

If your Voice DNA was trained on long-form writing (newsletters, blogs), it'll over-produce on X. Tune by:

  1. Adding short-form samples. 20+ recent X posts (yours) added to the training set.
  2. Tightening AVOID block. Add "Never use words longer than 10 letters when a shorter one works." Add specific phrases to ban.
  3. Setting length targets. "Most posts under 200 chars. Polls and threads can extend."

When to spin up an X-specific voice profile

If your X voice is dramatically different from your LinkedIn or newsletter voice (e.g., casual on X, formal on LinkedIn), maintain separate voice profiles. Same workspace, two profiles, agents assigned to each platform.

Common myths

  1. "My voice should be the same everywhere." Voice should be recognizable everywhere; the register shifts per platform.
  2. "Volume is everything." Volume + quality. Volume alone gets deboosted.
  3. "I should let agents post on Aggressive autonomy." For most users, Auto is plenty. Aggressive without months of trust is risky on X specifically — the platform's punish-mode is loud.

Action Steps

  1. Configure (or audit) your Hype-Man and Hunter for X using the configuration in Lesson 1.
  2. Set the schedule from Lesson 2 — adjusted to your audience timezone.
  3. Audit your X-specific voice. Is it tuned for X density, or imported from another platform?

The right Bolta workflow on X is the difference between treading water and compounding. Configure deliberately. Last X lesson: the mistakes and shadowban myths.
