Your Agent Creates Carousels Designed for Reuse and Scale

This isn't a simple design tool. Your Bolta agent creates system-ready carousels you can reuse, adapt, and automate into content loops.

Type your slides, pick a template, and export a finished carousel — a PDF for a LinkedIn document post, or a PNG set for Instagram, Threads and Facebook. Nothing to install, no account, no watermark.

It is built for people who post carousels every week and do not want to reopen a design file each time: consistent type, consistent margins, consistent slide numbering, in about two minutes.

Bolta writes your carousels in your brand voice, automatically — and waits for your approval before posting.

You just used the carousel generator. That was one output. Bolta does this every day, on schedule.

What makes a carousel people actually finish

A carousel is not a slide deck. It is one argument, cut into swipes, where every slide has to earn the next one. The feed only ever shows slide one and the first line of your caption, so the cover slide is the whole post to most people who see it. Lead with a claim, a number or a specific problem — “We cut reply time from 9 hours to 40 minutes” beats “5 tips for better engagement” every time.

After that, one idea per slide and roughly eight to fifteen words of body text. Anything denser gets read on a four-inch screen at arm’s length and loses. Do not put an intro slide at position two: slide two should pay off the promise immediately, because that is where the drop-off is steepest. Number your slides (1/8, 2/8) — people finish more often when they can see what finishing costs. Then end with exactly one ask. Save, follow, or comment. Three asks is zero asks.

Platform constraints worth knowing

LinkedIn has no native carousel post. You upload a PDF through the Document option and LinkedIn renders a swipeable viewer with a page counter. Portrait pages read best, type needs to be larger than you think because the in-feed viewer is small, and the caption above it carries the hook.

Instagram allows up to 20 images; 1080x1350 gives you the tallest feed footprint. Remember the first slide is also what lands on your profile grid, so it has to survive a square crop. Add alt text per slide — it is the only text in an image post that search and screen readers can see.

Threads supports the same image counts, but swipe depth is shallower and the caption does more of the work. Three to six slides plus a strong text post performs better there than a ten-slide essay. On Facebook, square 1080x1080 is the safer default because of how the feed crops.

Common mistakes

  • Designing in a wide desktop preview. Check every slide at phone width before you export; that is the only size that matters.
  • A cover slide that states a topic instead of making a promise. Topics get scrolled past.
  • Pasting a whole blog post across twelve slides. Cut the connective tissue and keep the claims.
  • New fonts and colours every week, so nothing accumulates recognition. Pick one template and stay boring about it.
  • Putting the link only on the last slide. Slides are images — repeat the link in the caption.
  • Posting one and stopping. Carousels compound when the same structure repeats on a schedule.

Getting more out of one carousel

The outline you wrote for the slides is already three more posts. The slide headers become a plain text post for LinkedIn or Threads. The strongest single slide becomes a standalone image post. The whole sequence, narrated, becomes a short video script. Most people build the carousel, publish it once, and throw the structure away — the structure was the expensive part.

FAQ

Frequently asked questions

How many slides should a carousel have?

Six to ten is the reliable range. Under five and there is not enough payoff to justify the swipe; past twelve, completion drops sharply because people can see how much work is left. If you have more than ten slides of material, you probably have two carousels.

What size should I export for LinkedIn, Instagram and Threads?

Portrait 1080x1350 (4:5) is the safest single size — it takes the most vertical space in the Instagram and Threads feeds and looks correct inside a LinkedIn document post. For LinkedIn specifically, export the whole set as one PDF and upload it as a document post rather than uploading separate images.

How do I post a carousel on LinkedIn?

LinkedIn does not have a native carousel post. You export your slides as a single PDF, then use the Document option in the post composer. LinkedIn renders it as a swipeable viewer with a page counter, so the first page has to earn the swipe on its own.

What should the first slide say?

A claim, a number, or a specific problem — not a title card with your logo. The feed shows slide one and the first line of the caption and nothing else, so the cover slide is effectively the entire post to anyone who does not swipe.

Is this carousel generator free?

Yes. You can build, preview and export carousels here with no account and no watermark. It runs in the browser, so your slide text is not stored on a server.

What file formats can I export?

PNG images for Instagram, Threads and Facebook, and a combined PDF for LinkedIn document posts. You can also download individual slides if you want to hand a single frame to someone else or reuse it as a header image.

Do I need design skills to use it?

No. The templates handle type scale, margins and contrast, which is where most homemade carousels fail. Your job is the argument: one idea per slide, in the order you would explain it to a colleague.
