Best time to post on X (Twitter) on Thursday
Thursday is the last day on X with a fully engaged working audience and a day of runway still in front of it. Attention is intact, but people have started thinking about what will not get finished this week.
Our X (Twitter) Thursday posting time figures are not published yet
We only publish posting times we measured ourselves, from posts actually published through Bolta. That aggregate is still being compiled, so this page shows the reasoning without the numbers rather than recycling someone else’s round figures. It is excluded from search results until the data lands.
In the meantime, Bolta’s Optimal Time already computes the answer for your own account rather than a benchmark average.

What makes Thursday different on X (Twitter)
Thursday is the end of the mid-week block rather than a day with its own character. The audience is still in a working context and still available to reply, so it performs much like Tuesday and Wednesday.
What is genuinely different is what comes after it. A Thursday post has one more weekday to be picked up, reposted or replied to; anything that has not travelled by Friday afternoon effectively stops. That makes Thursday a good slot for material you want seen but do not need to build on, and a poor slot for anything that depends on a multi-day conversation.

Frequently asked questions
Is Thursday a good day to post on X?
Yes — it is one of the reliable weekdays, with the audience still fully in a working rhythm. Its limitation is runway rather than reach.
Is Thursday better than Friday on X?
For most accounts, clearly yes. Thursday's audience is intact all day, while Friday's attention drains as the day goes on and does not come back until the following week.
Should I post announcements on Thursday?
Only if the announcement is self-contained. If you will need several days of replies, questions and follow-ups, move it earlier in the week — Thursday leaves you a single weekday to work with.
Does Thursday behave differently for B2B audiences on X?
Slightly. Professional audiences are still present but are increasingly in wrap-up mode, so posts that ask for a decision compete with a shortening week. Informational posts are unaffected.
Stop looking up posting times
A benchmark table is an average of other people's audiences. Bolta's Optimal Time reads your own X (Twitter) history and schedules each post into the window that actually works for your account — then keeps adjusting as the audience shifts.
Methodology
These pages report posting times measured from posts published through Bolta — our own data, not a third-party benchmark. The aggregate is still being compiled, so no sample size, date range or figures are published yet and this page is excluded from search results.
When it publishes, this block will state the exact post count, the number of accounts, and the date range behind every number on the page.
