Best time to post on X (Twitter) on Monday

Monday works on X because the audience arrives with a backlog to clear from the weekend, and because anything that starts a conversation has the rest of the working week to keep running.

Our X (Twitter) Monday posting time figures are not published yet

We only publish posting times we measured ourselves, from posts actually published through Bolta. That aggregate is still being compiled, so this page shows the reasoning without the numbers rather than recycling someone else’s round figures. It is excluded from search results until the data lands.

In the meantime, Bolta’s Optimal Time already computes the answer for your own account rather than a benchmark average.

What makes Monday different on X (Twitter)

Monday is the one weekday where a meaningful share of the audience opens X to find out what they missed rather than to see what is happening now. That catch-up scroll is a slightly longer, slightly more tolerant session than the mid-week check-in, and it favours posts that summarise, frame or set an agenda over posts that react to something.

It is also the day with the most runway. A Monday post that starts a real conversation can keep resurfacing through replies for the rest of the working week, and you still have four more weekdays to follow up on it. The same post on Thursday has almost nowhere to go.

The offsetting pressure is competition: Monday is when brands, newsletters and everyone who batched their content over the weekend all publish at once. The audience is large but the feed is crowded, and attention is being spent on other people's inboxes and to-do lists as much as on the timeline.

Frequently asked questions

Is Monday a good day to post on X?

For most accounts, yes — the working audience is back and receptive. The caveat is that Monday is one of the most crowded days on the platform, so a merely adequate post competes with a lot of other merely adequate posts. It rewards your strongest material rather than filler.

Should I post a thread on Monday?

Monday is a reasonable day for a thread because the catch-up session tolerates longer reading and because you have the rest of the week to reference and extend it. Just be aware that people are also triaging their week, so a thread that demands sustained attention competes with a genuinely busy morning.

Is Monday better than mid-week on X?

Not usually better, but rarely worse in a way that matters. Monday's advantage is runway and the catch-up scroll; mid-week's advantage is a fully settled audience. If you can only post well once, Monday's extra week of follow-up potential is a legitimate reason to pick it.

Why do some accounts avoid posting on Monday?

Because attention on Monday is split. People are clearing a backlog across every channel, not just X, and promotional or ask-heavy posts land badly against that. Accounts that sell on X often shift their asks to mid-week for exactly this reason.

Stop looking up posting times

A benchmark table is an average of other people's audiences. Bolta's Optimal Time reads your own X (Twitter) history and schedules each post into the window that actually works for your account — then keeps adjusting as the audience shifts.

Methodology

These pages report posting times measured from posts published through Bolta — our own data, not a third-party benchmark. The aggregate is still being compiled, so no sample size, date range or figures are published yet and this page is excluded from search results.

When it publishes, this block will state the exact post count, the number of accounts, and the date range behind every number on the page.
