Best time to post on TikTok on Friday
Friday is a handoff day on TikTok: attention drifts from work toward the weekend across the day, and a Friday post spends most of its redistribution life in weekend viewing rather than weekday viewing.
Our TikTok Friday posting time figures are not published yet
We only publish posting times we measured ourselves, from posts actually published through Bolta. That aggregate is still being compiled, so this page shows the reasoning without the numbers rather than recycling someone else’s round figures. It is excluded from search results until the data lands.
In the meantime, Bolta’s Optimal Time already computes the answer for your own account rather than a benchmark average.

What makes Friday different on TikTok
Friday is the day the audience's session shape changes while the day is still running. It starts as a normal weekday — short scrolls between obligations — and drifts toward leisure use as the afternoon goes on and evening plans take over. That makes the spread within Friday wider than on other weekdays, and it makes your own follower-activity chart more useful than usual for choosing between a Friday morning and a Friday evening.
The other structural point is runway. Because TikTok keeps sampling a video for days after upload, a Friday post spends most of its distributed life in weekend conditions: longer, more relaxed sessions, and less scheduled business content in the pool, since most brand calendars stop at the end of the week.
The cost is that Friday has the least weekday runway of any weekday slot. If your audience is one that mostly watches during the working week, a Friday post is handing its later rounds to the part of the week where those viewers are least present.

Frequently asked questions
Is Friday a good day to post on TikTok?
It depends on whether your audience watches more at the weekend or during the week. A Friday post lives mostly in weekend distribution, which is an advantage for leisure-oriented audiences and a disadvantage for ones that scroll on work breaks.
Is Friday evening bad for TikTok?
Less than the conventional wisdom suggests. Plenty of people are on the app on a Friday night, and late sessions are often unusually attentive. Whether it works for you depends on whether your specific audience is out or in.
Should I post earlier in the day on Friday?
Earlier catches your audience while their week is still structured, which is preferable if they watch on breaks. Later catches the shift to leisure viewing. Friday is the weekday where this choice matters most, so test both rather than guessing.
Do brands and businesses stop posting on Friday?
Scheduled business content thins out toward the end of the week and through the weekend. Since the For You feed is not chronological, that does not directly free up slots for you, but it does change the mix of content the ranker is choosing among.
Stop looking up posting times
A benchmark table is an average of other people's audiences. Bolta's Optimal Time reads your own TikTok history and schedules each post into the window that actually works for your account — then keeps adjusting as the audience shifts.
Methodology
These pages report posting times measured from posts published through Bolta — our own data, not a third-party benchmark. The aggregate is still being compiled, so no sample size, date range or figures are published yet and this page is excluded from search results.
When it publishes, this block will state the exact post count, the number of accounts, and the date range behind every number on the page.
