One agent or many, voice profile per platform, and how to make the cross-platform queue scale.

## Summary

Lesson from the Bolta University course "Cross-Platform Repurposing with Bolta". The full lesson text follows.

## Who this is for

- Founders
- Creators
- Marketing teams
- Agencies

## Limitations and boundaries

- Course material describes the product and the platforms at the time of writing; verify current behaviour in the app.
- Social network features, limits, and algorithms change independently of Bolta.
- Current prices and plan limits must be verified on the Bolta pricing page.

## Lesson 1: One Hype-Man or Many

The first decision when running Hype-Man across platforms: do you spin up one agent that handles everything, or one per platform?

### One Hype-Man for all platforms

**Pros:**
- Single source of voice and persona.
- Simpler to manage.
- Performance feedback compounds across all output.

**Cons:**
- Single agent must handle 7 platforms' worth of posts per day.
- Persona has to encode all platform conventions.
- Drift in one direction affects all platforms.

**Best for:** founders with consistent register across platforms (e.g., personal brand on X, Threads, Bluesky, Mastodon all in similar voice).

### Multiple Hype-Men, one per platform

**Pros:**
- Each agent specializes in one platform's conventions.
- Per-platform voice profile possible.
- Drift on one platform doesn't bleed into others.

**Cons:**
- More agents to manage.
- More approval queues.
- Performance signals split across agents.

**Best for:** creators with genuinely different registers per platform (e.g., casual on X, polished on LinkedIn).

### The hybrid

Many successful Bolta setups use a hybrid:

- **One Hype-Man for the "casual cluster"** (X, Threads, Bluesky, Mastodon) — similar registers.
- **One Hype-Man for the "visual cluster"** (Instagram, Facebook) — Reels and carousels with shared workflow.
- **One Hype-Man for LinkedIn** — distinct register, polished tone.

3 agents, 7 platforms, manageable approval queue.

### When to consolidate

Start with multiple agents if you're already running multi-platform manually. Once you've stabilized:

1. If two agents have nearly-identical personas, merge them.
2. If output across two agents is interchangeable, merge them.
3. If managing approvals is becoming overhead, simplify.

### When to split

Start with one agent if you're new. Split when:

1.  One platform's posts feel off-tone consistently.
2.  You're explicitly running a multi-voice strategy (founder voice + brand voice).
3. The cross-platform persona has bloated past 1-2 screens.

## Lesson 2: Voice Profile Per Platform

Earlier lessons covered voice. Here's the cross-platform setup specifically.

### The voice profile inventory

For most cross-platform setups:

1. **Core Voice Profile** — the canonical version of your voice. Trained on best samples.
2. **Optional: Platform-specific overrides** — light overlays on the core profile to handle platform conventions (length, register, format expectations).

### When platform-specific voice profiles are warranted

You should split into multiple full voice profiles when:

1. **The register difference is dramatic.** Casual fragment-heavy X voice vs polished essayist LinkedIn voice.
2. **Audience expectations differ in ways register can't cover.** A B2B Pages strategy vs founder tone on X.
3. **You're running multiple personas as different humans.** Founder voice + brand voice in the same workspace.

### When one core profile is enough

You can run one Voice DNA profile across all platforms when:

1. **Your voice is the same human across all platforms.** Sentences may shorten or lengthen, but the underlying personality is consistent.
2.  **You're a personal-brand founder.** Most founders fit this.
3. **You'd rather invest in one strong voice profile than 4 mediocre ones.**

### Bolta's persona overlays

Even with one Voice DNA profile, Bolta lets you set per-agent persona overlays:

```
PERSONA (X-specific Hype-Man):
- Voice profile: Core
- Override: register lean — casual, sentence fragments, hooks
- Override: length default 200-280 chars
- Override: hashtag use — minimal (0-2)
```

Same voice; different overlay per platform. This is the most common setup for cross-platform Hype-Men.

## Lesson 3: The Approval Queue at Scale

Running cross-platform with Bolta means your approval queue grows. Manage it deliberately.

### The risk of queue overload

If you're running 4 Hype-Men across 7 platforms with growth-cadence schedules:

- 5 X posts/day + 5 reply drafts
- 3 Bluesky posts/day + 5 reply drafts
- 3 Threads posts/day
- 2 IG/FB Reels/week + 2 carousels/week
- 3 LinkedIn posts/week
- 3 Mastodon posts/day

That's 20-30 approvals per day. Without a system, this becomes overwhelming.

### The morning batch pattern

Most founders settle into a morning batch routine:

1. **15 minutes with coffee.** Approve, edit, or skip every queued post for the day.
2. **Telegram works fastest.** Tap-and-go approvals.
3. **Edit small, often.** Surface edits keep the agent learning. Topical rewrites mean the persona is wrong.

15 minutes a day handles 30 approvals. Most founders find this sustainable.

### The afternoon engagement check

A second 10-minute window:

1. **Reply approvals.** Hunter has surfaced reply opportunities.
2. **DM responses.** Engager has drafted Messenger replies.
3. **Re-engagement.** Comments on your posted content.

Total: ~25 minutes/day for serious cross-platform output.

### The weekly rhythm

Beyond daily approvals:

1. **Monday — strategy check.** Read Analyst's weekly summary. Adjust persona or schedule if needed.
2. **Wednesday — content batching.** Generate 5-10 fresh ideas; let Hype-Men draft from them across platforms.
3. **Friday — drift check.** Read approved posts from the week. Spot drift; adjust.

Weekly: 60-90 minutes total beyond daily approvals.

### When the queue overwhelms

If you're not getting through the queue:

1. **Reduce cadence somewhere.** Move a secondary platform to maintenance.
2. **Increase autonomy.** Move trusted agents from Assisted to Auto for low-stakes posts.
3. **Tighten persona.** A persona that produces good first drafts means fewer edits.

The goal is sustainable. Burning out on approvals defeats the point of automation.

### Common myths

1. *"More agents means less work."* Up to a point — past 3-4 agents, management overhead dominates.
2. *"Auto autonomy means no oversight."* You should still skim weekly. Auto means "fewer interruptions," not "no review."
3. *"Bolta replaces editorial taste."* It doesn't — your taste shapes every persona, every approval, every edit.

### Action Steps

1. Decide your Hype-Man structure: one, multiple, or hybrid. Document the choice.
2. Set up your approval rhythm: morning batch, afternoon engagement, weekly review. Calendar them.
3. Audit your approval volume after 14 days. Sustainable? If not, adjust cadence or autonomy.

Cross-platform Bolta is sustainable when you treat the queue as a discipline, not an emergency. Next lesson: cross-platform analytics.
